Production Technician 

Available Locations: Angola, IN, Edgewater, FL, & Orwigsburg, PA

Requirements and Responsibilities

​

  • Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for manufacturing awnings, canopies, and miscellaneous aluminum structures

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, informing the Production Manager of repairs

  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements

  • Review of finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings & BOMs

  • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required

  • Perform shop floor duties such as stapling, packing, shipping, and loading

  • Analyze work orders to complete the manufacturing calculating requirements, studying metals, determining layout and assembly of awnings

  • Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations

  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition

  • Load and unload installation and delivery trucks

  • Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, if necessary

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to transfer/move materials weighing up to 100 pounds

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, Physical exam certification based on DOT standards

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Minimum 3 years experience in fabrication or manufacturing

  • Familiarity with the use of Jigs & fixtures

  • Ability to read engineering drawings
