Welder

Available locations: Angola, IN, Edgewater, FL, & Orwigsburg, PA

 

SUMMARY

The Welder is responsible for the fabrication of awnings, signs, or related products for residential, commercial, and industrial establishments.  The Welder will review prints, cut material to the appropriate dimensions, use welding techniques and processes, and ensure compliance with quality, and safety while meeting defined deadlines. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Analyze work orders to complete welding projects, calculate requirements, study metals, determine layouts, and assemble awning frames.

-          Fabricate awnings by using equipment to cut, burn, and weld pieces.

-          Verify welding results by inspecting and testing welds to assure quality.

-          Document actions by completing records.

-          Weld assemblies for new products and change to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.

-          Operate other necessary equipment and perform tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.

-          Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.

-          Keep equipment operating by troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance by informing the supervisor of needed repairs.

-          Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.

-          Perform shop floor duties such as stapling, packaging, shipping, and loading if needed.

-          Operate forklift, load, and unload material.

-          Maintain accurate inventory in the fabrication department.

-          Use required equipment such as sheer, bender, drill press, saw, angle grinder, hydraulic press, and other hand tools as needed.

-          Maintain a clean working environment.

-          Be able to read and build from in-house drawings.
